Manual Hand Actuated Test Fixture
General
Manual bed of nails type test fixture. This unit was customized with 4 panel meters LED
readouts and switches.
Simple 3 step operation:
- Insert circuit board on tooling pins
- Close the Clear Lexan top cover
- Pull the lever.
Spring loaded test pins mounted on an internal plate raise to make contact with the circuit board under test.

Mechanical
The tester is comprised of 3 plates. The top hold-down plate, the surface plate, and the
internal plate.
- The top plate swings up to allow a circuit board to be inserted.
- The surface plate holds the tooling pins, and shrouds the spring loaded test pins. This shrouding improves the pointing accuracy above the pins ratings.
- The internal plate holds the spring loaded test pins and
presses them against the board under test when the handle is pulled.
- Patented low cost stainless steel anti sway bar system shown here keeps the plates parallel within .001" / linear ft.
Electrical
Low voltage test pins are wire-wrapped with 28AWG wire.
Higher voltage and high current test points are wired with larger wire and a crimp style
connection.
Custom circuit boards are built in house and used in this fixture to connect front panel
meters, switches and LED indicators in a clean easy to maintain fashion.
Manufacture
Extreme care is taken in the manufacture of all plates. All plates are precision ground,
buffed to a high gloss, center drilled, then finally, drilled to an accuracy of 1/10 of a
thousandth with carbide drill bits running at 20,000 RPM under high pressure coolant.
Receptacles are then inserted and swaged with a custom built CNC machine providing an
extremely high degree of perpendicularity exceeding 1/1000" per linear foot.

Blank fixture kits are kept in stock. Customization generally takes from 1-2 weeks.
