TE-5500 PC Board Test Fixture
Test Electronics will customize the TE-5500 bed of nails style test fixture for your circuit board and test application. Next, add a test engine or a simple desktop or rack mount computer, plug in the data aquisition boards and software. This will create a complete full performance cost efficient functional, in-circuit, or bare board tester.
Quick and Simple 2 step operation
1. Insert the circuit board under test in the tester.
2. Press the dual safety button.
The bottom plate holds the board under test and raises it. This presses the board into the spring loaded test pins making contact with the circuit board under test.

Back View
Shown here is the back view with the bottom plate down. Connectors will be placed on this rear panel which is mounted to the top plate. Power and air pressure are provided from the back. Mechanical
The tester is comprised of 2 plates. The top stationary bed of nails plate and a bottom push plate.
1. The spring loaded test probes are mounted in the top plate and are typically wired out to connectors on the back panel.
2. The bottom push plate holds the tooling pins and the board under test. This plate pushes the board up into the top bed of nails plate.
4. Patented High accuracy roller bearings combined with state of the art anti sway technology holds tight tolerances over long term industrial use keeping the plates parallel within .001" / linear ft.
5. The chassis is built with industrial strength .090" aluminum, reinforced with a heavy duty 3/8" aluminum inner frame.

Inside View
This view with the top cover open. This shows the easy accessibility provided by our fixture designs. The pins shown in this plate will be wire wrapped to the rear panel connectors and an internal power supply and any variety of internal signal conditioning boards. Low speed signals and data pins are wire wrapped directly to the appropriate rear panel connectors where they are cabled out to an insrument board. Higher speed signals, and noise sensitive signals are wired with twisted pairs or coaxial cable. All wiring is neatly bundled for easy troubleshooting and modification. Extreme care is taken in the manufacture of all plates. All plates are precision ground, buffed to a high gloss, center drilled, then finally, drilled to an accuracy of 1/10 of a thousandth with carbide drill bits running at 20,000 RPM under high pressure coolant. Receptacles are then inserted and swaged with a custom built CNC machine providing an extremely high degree of perpendicularity exceeding 1/1000" per linear foot.

Quick Test Plate Changeover
Test plate changeover is a quick 2 minuit job. 4 thumbscrews to change the bottom plate and 4 SHC screws to change the top plate. The top plate drops down and slides out with the connector assembly. The bottom plate lifts up and out. The new plates slide back in. All rear panel connectors are mounted to the aluminum bracket on the top plate. This whole top plate assembly slides out together eliminating wiring hassels. Double sided access plate sets use transfer pins to get the signals from the bottom plate up to the top plate.
